Joy to the World! Abundant Blessings in 2012!
I am blessed in a multitude of ways! I trust that you appreciate your blessings as you look back on 2011.
Unc-onditional Love in the Form of a Dog
My dog, Unc, has been my companion for another year – 9 total now – after having surgery for a liver tumor October 2010. I have lots of gratitude for the vets that helped us through last year, Dr. Flannery in Cottonwood of Airpark Animal Hospital, and Dr. Foote of Vet Med in Cave Creek.
He continues to be excited about our daily walks, running in circles as I put on my walking shoes, urging me to go faster and faster on the walk. He warms my bed, which is welcome in winter.
Connecting with Patients
I am connecting with the kind of patients who I can help the best and who really appreciate my talents and knowledge and my business has doubled. This is with thanks to the guidance of my business coach, Lisa Long.
I have become the gal that will “get back your get-up-and-go when it is gone, gone, gone.” I focus on thyroid screening and use my Naturopathic perspective to look at the whole person and find other areas needing attention. I look forward to finishing revising my website and incorporating some new projects in the next year, also with the guidance of Lisa.
Creative Endeavors
My creative impulses are being channeled into sewing clothes, both for summer and winter. I supplement with thrift store finds, especially celebrating name brands that look good on me. My aim for my wardrobe is for everything I put on to make me very happy.
Road Trips
I have taken some short trips to visit friends, like Monica and Kyle in New Mexico with Ellen, and have visited friends when I make my pilgrimage to Prescott to work. I am cutting back on my Prescott trips because I am so busy in Cottonwood. (But it comes in handy to visit my nearest Jo-Ann fabric store.)
I also attended 3 conferences in Phoenix, visiting friends and earning my continuing education credits for the year. This year the national Naturopathic conference was held at the Biltmore in Phoenix, and that was a treat to stay there, even though it was in searing, steamy August (the monsoons were active.)
And I attended a national broadcast of A Prairie Home Companion with Garrison Keilor in Flagstaff in June, something that was on my wish list for a long time.
The Ishayas
I have had closer contact with Ishaya teachers, spending time with two of them. One was planning to move to Prescott but landed in San Diego instead. The USA teachers are pulling together and coordinating our efforts. I taught one class and have plans to expand that next year. I also am registered to attend two Ishaya retreats in the next year, one here in Arizona and the other in Ontario, Canada.
The Holidays
I will be in Wisconsin with my family for Christmas this year again. I expect the Green Bay Packers will be on the TV again, with enthusiastic fans cheering. And a wonderful family dinner with snow outside, then bundling up and taking the dogs for a walk.
In the meantime, it has been snowy here on the mountains surrounding Cottonwood, When the clouds cleared for a moment, I got a glimpse from my office window of the white dusting on the red rocks of Sedona.
Warm Winter Wishes!
With love and gratitude,
Dr. Cheryl
