Cottonwood during the Holidays in Pictures
There were very many festivities in Cottonwood, and I sampled a few. I really felt the holidays start with the first cold and snow on Mingus Mountain December 14th. The morning sun highlights the foothills in contrast to the snow-topped mountain.
Before that, December 11, Unity Center of the Valley had a Christmas party. Here is Reverend Bruce Kellogg and his wife Jennifer opening a gift. It is a long string of prayer flags made by the congregants, and assembled by Mimi.
What are the holidays without music? A group from the Verde Voices made a special appearance at the Chamber of Commerce breakfast meeting December 13.
As night reaches its longest stretch on the Winter Solstice, we celebrate the coming of the light with spectacular light displays. Here is a shot of the Kessel house during the music synchronized light show.
Enough said about the end of the cycle of the Mayan calendar.
The moon and Jupiter are conjunct in the night sky on Tuesday, December 25. If the skies are clear, look for it!
If there is to be peace in the world,
There must be peace in the nations.
If there is to be peace in the nations,
There must be peace in the cities.
If there is to be peace in the cities,
There must be peace between neighbors.
If there is to be peace between neighbors,
There must be peace in the home.
If there is to be peace in the home,
There must be peace in the heart.
