Arizona Adventure to Tonto Natural Bridge

What have you done lately that is new for you? Have you taken an adventure?

Sprinkling novelty in your week is a good way to naturally boost dopamine, your reward neurotransmitter. And being in Nature is a bonus.

I did take this adventure recently – to Tonto Natural Bridge State Park on a lovely fall day. Here are my postcards.

Coming down to Pine Creek, I catch the first glimpse of the opening under the bridge.

It is flat on top and the other side calls me.

This is a convergence of many kinds of rocks. The bridge is primarily Travertine limestone.

I keep scrambling over different colored rocks.

The other end of the opening is getting closer. I see more water pools.

Looking up – the forest beyond. Looking down – pine creek pool

Where I came from, where I am heading, and the path is marked.

Pine creek pools – sorry, no swimming! (to preserve it.)

Notice the scale of this wall compared to the people at the bottom. Then look up and back where I came from.

The cliff walls have many caves and water tumbles from the top.

Through the arch and looking back on it from the walkway, and the creek as it flows onward.

View of the bridge top and the opening from the observation points.
