Out of Africa . . . and in Arizona!
With this unseasonably warm winter weather, it is a perfect time to visit our local park of wild animals . . . Out of Africa.
The famous Tiger Splash . . . this tiger is eager to play, he is on the ramp leading to the pool, waiting for the show. Four young men are trained to act as “prey” which the tigers chase, then follow into the pool. The tigers get treats at the end of the show.
Besides tigers, there are lions and other cats. The lighter fur on the lion’s belly reflects heat so she doesn’t overheat.
Out of Africa also includes reptiles.
The Safari on an open-window bus is exciting. We have an opportunity to feed the giraffe. Notice the purplish tongue, the pigment is sunscreen since the giraffes eat so much of the day in the sunlight.
Beware of the zebras. They would just as soon bite you. Look at those teeth!
Lots of beasts on the safari!
Look at those horns! The only way to direct an ostrich is from behind, because they bite!
Here is my Dad who shared this adventure, at the entrance.
