for my experience of this present moment, resting in peace and contentment.

Peace

Reflecting on it, I am blown away that the peace that I had sought from my critical and busy mind as a teen is here. I am so grateful that I was shown how to and applied myself to master the mind in order for that peace, which has always been here, to surface as a fundamental awareness.

What makes a great life

Yes, I have a great life. My gratitude for my life is what makes it great.

In fact, giving thanks makes my life greater and greater.

In a swell of gratitude, my heart is filled to overflowing. It is not simply the things and people in my life that makes it great; living simply is great!

Even when it looked like I had just enough to eek by, I experienced life as great. Well, not all the time.

As needed

However, when I look back, the predominant feeling is that I am grateful for all the resources that I find around me that come just when needed. Resources to fill a physical need as well as people offering their talents and abilities and the resources of community have flowed in as needed.

I have experienced this my whole life. Therefore, I am grateful that I experience life this way.

Creativity

I am grateful for the creative impulse which has moved me to manipulate substance, words, images, and ideas in a new way.

The creative process shows me what is possible, just by allowing something new to come into being.

When creative inspiration hits, I know I am being lived by life. I bow to inspiration and it is a delight to see what can come into being in the world.

Enjoying beauty in awe

Being in the flow of creative action is one of the most enjoyable acts I experience in living, and I am deeply grateful.

The act of creating something shows me where more beauty is possible. I can step back and look at the creation and see the life force at work and admire how beautiful life is.

I see this new creation in the context of all creation and am stopped in my tracks in awe. I am very grateful for those moments when I am overcome with the feeling of awe.

Gratitude

Instead of a laundry list of the things I am grateful for, I express my gratitude for life itself. I am enormously grateful for my experience of life.

I know I was not always this appreciative for the way things are. In the past, I have been caught in the perspective of all the things that were wrong with my life and suffered because of it. I have been depressed and had very little motivation to be engaged in the bounty of life, because I did not see it as bountiful.

Now I experience that life has so much to give and we can receive it when we are open to it. It is simply that opening and dropping ideas of limitation and not enough and less than that initiates the process.

For what are you grateful?
