Summer of DanceMindful Movement Workshops

Doesn’t that sound wonderful?

It did to me. I did an introductory session with Ana and Cassie and was blown away with the creative result.

I recognized that the writing I did in the session was a poem!

I share it with you here. May you dance in prayerful gratitude as you read and beyond!

The children dance
in prayerful gratitude,
Once you start you just can’t stop . . .
How I love to play!
Let us play as we pray,
Let prayer be unceasing.

Dancing to music
free flow energy exchange
community interaction
exuberance, the effulgence of being!

Letting your light shine
fully incarnated –
Well done my little one.
Once you start you just can’t stop,
when the music moves you
you have no use for thinking.

Desire leads to movement
It’s a free flow, in the flow of Nature
In the groove, in the moment,
in the present with gifts showering all around.

Playing,
the body the attuned instrument
How I love to play!
Let us play as we pray,
let prayer be unceasing,

Let God be incarnate in the world,
let pleasure rule:
the pleasure of the light,
the pleasure of the day, the pleasure of the night
pleasure springing from deep inside to bless the wide world.
Let pleasure replace pain,
let pleasure replace thinking,
let pleasure rule

Through movement of the body,
the body receives pleasure.
When the body moves, the spirit moves –
Spirit is
the loving force behind movement.
When the body is attuned, the spirit willing,
creation happens,
light shines!
The body is the instrument
of the divine on Earth
for the flourishment of consciousness.

Variety is the spice of life –
take pleasure, be in variety,
a variety of body parts move to pleasant music,
music leads the body to move
in attunement with the divine,
as the love of God is manifest on earth,
the children dance in prayerful gratitude,
the love of God is firmly established on Earth
through movement of the body.

The children dance
in prayerful gratitude,
Once you start you just can’t stop . . .
How I love to play!
Let us play as we pray,
Let prayer be unceasing.
